lindsey and I walked down to our neighborhood vietnamese joint for some takeout dinner. while we were waiting a nice older man sat down next to us and talked in depth about the various ‘drinks’ in the case in front of us. he was particularly fond of the red bean and jello variety, but thought it would be best if i walked out of the restaurant with a durian shake. i regret not taking him up on it, i totally chickened out.
i ordered Phở Tai, which is priced at $5.50 (unheard of cheap). When we got home i disovered that i got a giant bag of basil, bean spouts, and lemon wedges, a container of beef in razor thin slices, a box of noodles, a tub of broth, and a variety of sauces. it’s probably a good thing the place is not directly between the subway and my apt- i might just stop cooking, i could eat this every day.
